The new ISFiT president has been elected
Following an extended election process, involving two new candidates during the election, Jon Bergland was elected to lead ISFiT27.
Wednesday night students gathered at Studentersamfundet to choose a new leader for the international student festival in Trondheim.

Ahead of the election, Jon Bergland and Adina Wattum had declared their intentions to run for the position. They ran representing the themes «Changing winds» and «Resilience» respectively.
The election would show to be anything but normal, when two new candidates announced their candidacy during the election proceedings. These were Ronja Smeby representing the theme «Pride», followed by Julie Godal representing «Interconnectedness».
The points that were among the most discussed include unity and collaboration, inclusion and diversity, and climate change along with global issues.
During the questioning it became clear that there was broad agreement in the fact that ISFiT stands as an important event for sharing experiences and perspectives across countries and cultures.
Bergland was ultimately elected to the presidency of ISFIT, having secured 50 votes, amounting to almost 61 percent of the votes cast.
Changing winds
The chosen theme for the upcoming festival is «Changing winds». Represented by Bergland, the theme aims to shed light on how changes in the political, technological, and climate sphere affect people in the world. Especially those who are the most vulnerable.
– In the future, there will be changes. Political, technological, and climate wise. And as it often is, it will be those who are most vulnerable who are the most affected by this. Change can represent hope for a better world, a better future, and a world that serves everyone.
